Eagan, Minn. (June 2, 2010) — One act of kindness is all it takes to make someone smile, to show you care or to make a difference in someone’s day. One act of kindness, quite simply, can mean the world to someone. Each day, thousands of people face a serious health event and need CaringBridge to connect with family and friends. The Minnesota-based nonprofit web service is asking supporters to join its One Act of Kindness campaign to help reach and serve these families.
“CaringBridge brings families together and enables them to support each other and lift each other up,” said Sona Mehring, founder and CEO, CaringBridge. “It reminds them that love and kindness can help as much as medicine.”
Through a CaringBridge site, families can easily update those who care allowing them to focus their energies on the person who requires healing. Supporters stay involved by reading journal entries, viewing photos, and leaving messages of love and support in the guestbook.
“The best part about the whole thing was getting support from people who we hadn’t heard from in a long time,” said Heidi Case, author of a CaringBridge website for her daughter, Ellery, who is being treated for a condition called Hydrops fetalis. “CaringBridge is such a great thing for people that are dealing with illnesses. It’s quick; it’s easy; and it’s wonderful.”
A donation to CaringBridge helps ensure the service is available for families like Heidi and Ellery, families who need hope, healing and connecting. For more information, visit www.caringbridge.org/actofkindness.
