EVOLVING SOLUTIONS DONATES SERVERS, TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO NONPROFIT CARINGBRIDGE

Eagan, Minn. (November 3rd, 2009) — CaringBridge, a Minnesota–based nonprofit providing free websites that connect loved ones during serious health events, care and recovery, has accepted a generous gift of data storage appliances and support from Evolving Solutions. Evolving Solutions is a Minnesota–based storage consolidation and server virtualization solution provider.

CaringBridge and Evolving Solutions first began working together in February 2009. Through this collaboration, the two organizations discovered that the products and services Evolving Solutions provides match directly with many of the technology, server and production environment needs of CaringBridge.

“We had been looking to partner with a charitable organization for some time,” said Jaime Gmach, Evolving Solutions president. “It was important to us to find a local organization that aligned with our philosophic beliefs and would really benefit from our technology expertise. We hope that this is just a stepping stone to the development of a long–term relationship with the CaringBridge organization.”

To help improve CaringBridge’s web service, Evolving Solutions architected a scalable network attached storage (NAS) solution and provided more than $50,000 worth of NetApp storage technology and support services. The CaringBridge network now has the flexibility to expand and users are able to upload numerous photographs and messages without limitations on archiving and storage.

“I am excited to be working with this widely–respected technology company,” said Gary Ablan, technology director, CaringBridge. “I believe this donation will ensure that CaringBridge has the capacity to enhance our websites by giving authors the ability to post numerous photos to share with their family and friends.”

Since 1997, more than one billion visits have been made to personal CaringBridge websites, connecting patients and caregivers to supportive family and friends. Through a free CaringBridge site, families can easily update those who care with one accurate message. Supporters stay involved by visiting the site to read journal entries, view photos and leave messages of love and support in the guestbook.
